this song is a classic.

what a year. the usual ups and downs, good times shit times. i'm just glad that i still have my mates watching my back. as the new year starts, i have a few simple resolutions.

1.obtain driving license
2.get into ocs
3.spend even more time with my family
4.make time for friends, catch up with some long lost ones
5.save money
6.converse fluently in thai

its funny like how we've 'all grown up' . soon ns will be over, we'll all be in university and with another blink of the eye , hey we're working adults.

post a levels was some pretty awesome as i will put it. okay yes i'm lucky to have travelled so much but hey i bought gifts! first was kl with bren and yd. the federer-sampras match was breathtaking. pistol pete still packed a punch but couldn match the class of  the world number 1. was good to spend time with them as i dont see them much.

after kl was a week of much catching up before i left for the states with my family. we transitted in frankfurt, no offence but it was kinda boring. the christmas decorations at the old town were pretty good though. everyone was in the festive moood. the trip was pretty fun, made some new friends and all. it was real exiciting when i first stepped out of 34th st penn subway station and to actually see the skyscrapers and the famous nyc yellow cabs. though jet-lagged and stuff i just had to walk around our hotel at night to soak in the atmosphere. surreal. after nyc was la, vegas and sf. the tour was pretty alright, and the tour group was not bad but definitely was incomparable to last year's. thanks kellyn for all the conversations on the coach when everyone else was sleeping and when we were too bored. next up was a stopover in korea. there was nothing much there, maybe it was the area we stayed in.

came back on christmas eve. christmas was alright, met up with sam and farrell for breakfast then went to get sandals from pedro with farrell. jwei came and we caught national treasure book of secrets. it was not as good as the first but i liked it anyway. it could have been much better though. had dinner with family before packing and studying as i had btt the next morning.

passed and got my pdl. went home to do some last min packing then left for the airport. destination bangkok this time round with ben, loong, zhu, james and han. it was fun with all the bargaining and i had chance to improve my thai. haha it was quite an eye opener. ping pong! oh and there was this pub opposite the apartment. quite but comfy. watched the fucking blind linesman rob us of a draw. wanker. oh the service was not bad and sort of made friends with the waitress. LOL. maybe i'll find her when i go back. thats if i do.

came back and watched sharapova-chadvetadze. it wasn that good but oh well. had good seats though.

so wham there goes december along with 2007. what surprises 08 may bring? till then, i'll drink a cup of kindness yet for times gone by. happy new year people.

i guess those are answers i'll never get

after a dreadful performance on monday against derby where we deservedly did not win, it goes to show that there is still work to be done.

there's new look at the tyne. firstly, the administrative revolution at the northeast. glenn roeder, fat greedy bastard freddy shepherd OUT. in comes, big sam allardyce, chairman chris mort and new owner mike ashley. it was very disappointing that BSA didn't get the 50million transfer kitty promised but what a hell of a manager he is. it is understandable that the board does not blindly hand cash to bsa. i was furious when i read that bsa had only 10mil. i'm sure many other fans would have felt the same way, cheated. but last season, we were woeful. 14th in the table? pathetic. hence the doubts. moreover, the club has a debt that was higher than expected.

awesome gaffer to have.

his net outlay was only around 10mil thereabouts. but the thing is, we exchanged ridiculously overpaid players for good quality players.
naturally i was kinda disappointed that scott parker was gone. i will never forget that arsenal game in which he ran till he collasped after a collision with jens lehmann, besides his shrewdness in the transfer market, his forms a special bond with the players and has remarkable man-handling skills to boot.

looking at the formation for the west ham game

Harper
Beye Cacapa Rozenhal N'Zogbia
Smith Butt Geremi Milner
Viduka          Owen

Its really pleasing see a quality bench. its a headache that im sure bsa will be willing to have. however, i feel that smith is not an out and out winger! he's my fav player at the moment (i just idolise players with burning with passion) i would want to see this:

                          GIVEN

BEYE     CACAPA ROZENHAL
ENRIQUE

MILNER SMITH    BUTT
N'ZOGBIA

                    VIDUKA  OWEN

BENCH:
HARPER
TAYLOR
EMRE
DUFF
MARTINS

choices:
given over harper: granted, harper may in the best form of his life but form is temporary. class is permanent. harper looks shaky at moments and i feel that given would definitely be an automatic first choice.

milner and n'zogbia on the wings: as i have mentioned, smudger (smith) is definitely not a winger. against derby and spells during the west ham game, we lacked width and we were merely playing route 1 football. when zoggy dribbled up the pitch we scored on both occasions! enough said. milner has been the most consistent player in my opinion and we definetly got 2 class, young wingers on our hands. duff would be a good sub to have. n'zogbia has matured so much under bsa and certainly has beefed up to complement his pace.

ameobi OUT: c'mon big sam, he doesnt deserve to be near the first XI! i think andy carroll would be a more decent player. he's just an average player.

taylor on the bench: as gifted as he may be as a defender, it would be a good opportunity for him to be an understudy to cacapa and rozenhal. both established and experienced defenders. when one is injured, taylor would step up and be a good sub to the aging cacapa in the second half during games

smudger as captain and geremi out: i feel with butt's experience and smith's passionate play, geremi does not have a starting place. i mean his good traits are merely set pieces and his multilingual ability.

as much as i missed the flair we used to have, i rather have the toon grind out one nils to losing games which we have to win to be serious contenders.

oh yes 3-1.  next up, arsenal. ah i want that smith jersey.

mido's such a fucking cunt. celebrating in front of opposition fans shows how much a professional you are. learn from viduka you prick. even though he scored, out of RESPECT he chose not to celebrate at all, not even with the toon army. on another note its really disappointing to see the mags throw away one goal leads twice. oh well, at least its not the mackems we were facing. heck. whoever said middlesbrough was even a derby. 23000 home fans? pathetic. argh fuck i just hate mido. argh 2 points dropped again.

gp was alright but it irked me that i didn manage to finish my aq which i thought was easy. screw it. i'm damn sick of the fact that people accuse me of doing something i didn do or do intentionally. and to call names? fuck off.

well i thought about studying overseas again. its my constant motivating factor(:

its all about effort. 'dedication and time' as i wrote for one question while i rephrased. if someone wants to take the initiative or not. i look back to the start of this year to see how much i forgone. but at least i have the present to make it up. or do i not?

i wanna talk to you.
the last time we talked mr smith, you reduced me to tears. i promise you it won't happen again.

MIKA cheers you up in the morning and takes away the blues of having to wake up so darn early. haha.

wow just like that school life is ending.i guess the perks of being in a rather reputable college is that you wont get childishly ridiculed as a 'mugger'. because everyone studies! but that does not, i feel, permit cool slackers to point out 'muggers' and discriminate them. somehow i hate that word and i dont use it, unless when quoting. (btw whats with 'mug', very cool mehhhhhh. why cant they just say study. mug has such a negative connotation to it) i mean. we're all students afterall. students study. thats what they do right! so what if one studies, it only shows that one is dedicated and hardworking. i'm not defending myself in anyway because i hardly do so in the past, and with the upcoming examinations its only natural that every responsible student studies. some people are blessed with more intellectual abilities than others, and thus the others compensate that 'loss' (if you will, by working hard. what's wrong with that seriously. bottomline is that everyone has a choice, and they certainly must account for the consequences.

this was taken from newcastle-online. an interview with a bolton fan ahead of tomorrow's game.

Out of all of the players transferred this summer in the Premiership, who do you think will have the biggest impact?

Titus Bramble. I fully expect him to have single-handedly relegated Wigan by Xmas.

the nus and ntu talks made me have second thoughts on going to london to study. though as life-enriching as an overseas education may be, there are many pros of studying here in singapore. like being around with friends and family(ya right), beats having to spending time alone there. maybe i'll make new friends, then again, it would be so different. argh.

then again, another factor would be my god damn grades. i really want to make it, mostly to prove myself worthy, but admittedly, part of me want to prove you wrong.

i need to talk to tutors about it but i doubt my ct would be of any use. then again there are tutors available but i just dont want them to bring up my poor grades. must everything be about grades? it seems if i get straight As, im a better student than one who gets Es and Ss. yi shi tong ren my ass. i know im poor in academics, but instead of discriminating, cant you just encourage and help? it makes me dread their lessons. maybe i shall talk to mr. dax young. he seems to be the easiest to relate to.

ahhh the intricacies of the heart!

i cant believe i let so many opportunities slip. maybe angie and bter are right. maybe i have little self confidence.

ok im off to studying. london here i come!(:

an inconvenient truth [03 Jul 2007|07:08pm]

'My fellow Americans, people all over the world, we need to solve the climate crisis. It's not a political issue; it's a moral issue. We have everything we need to get started, with the possible exception of the will to act. That's a renewable resource. Let's renew it.'

-Al Gore

before today i had the impression from somewhere that al gore is some political leader wannabe who is hated in the states. i realised how wrong i was. all that changed when i watched his documentary 'an incovenient truth' for gp lesson today.

the geographical aspects of the film made me interested to find out more about him and i felt so glad that i am taking geography. al gore's push for creating environmental awareness sadly is being opposed by his own country which, together with australia, are the only 2 developed nations who have not signed the kyoto treaty. whats the point of having crass commercialism and materialism alike, and the futile attempts to narrow the inevitable income disparity of DCs and LDCs when we do not have a safe environment to live in. and not to mention all the bullshit given as reasons for the iraq war. havent they learnt from hurricane katrina? to think they say once bitten twice shy.

true enough, the figures mentioned may be exaggerated but being such a worldly reknowed figure, his errors would have been pointedly out so long ago. 'an incovenient truth' is a must watch. so much more worthy of your time than hot fuzz. that show really makes me wonder about  maligned sense of humour  that the british allegedly have. nevertheless i still wanna study in the uk(: i hope the new prime minister would address and eradicate the terrorists threat with effiency.

live earth's on sat! wear
green! geography rocks!

its funny how badly i can do for it :(

oh well. it was nice seeing bren after so long. updated each other and im really glad to know that someone can lend a listening ear and understand how i feel. afterall what are best buds for! the only upsetting incident was when he dropped his wallet in the middle lift at the cathay and we were searching frantically for it. to think that this person actually told me that he/she (trans) didn see a wallet when he/she entered the lift. we found it lying in the bin on the second floor. guess our conjecture that some dishonest fella took the cash and threw away the wallet was proven right. but well it was still a small price to pay for the rest of the stuff in his wallet. hot fuzz was really disappointing! ugh.

dont you think that it was irresponsible of you to pass that claim. well thats your side of the story and if you want people to think of it that way, i cant do anything. so am  i nothing more than a line in your book? i certainly didn wish things for things to turn out this way.

new zealand was kind of a refreshing experience for me. had so much fun with malcolm, yanlong, limhong, yusheng, teresa, gracia and yanwen. not forgetting my wonderful classmates yvonne evadne and liqin, and the arts people who were soooo friendly and caring and nice. my twin angie, clara, brenda, jeannie? or is it ginny, jeanny i dont know but you get my flow. and the tutors! mr josef tan, mr najip and miss lim. they are so cool i almost forgot they were our educators. serioulsy. just ask teresa.

but first i would like to thank those who came to send me off - zhuangyong, sidney, joel, deborah and of course my lovely family who kindly brought my luggage to the airport for me. and oh those who sent little bon voyage msgs - shah, sharon, izwan, sharon. thank you(: i certainly did enjoy myself.

the first  week or so, we were at the countryside the scenery was so picture perfect and the air  was so fresh.

though human beings were so rare, i was amazed everytime we met one, it was certainly to my amusement. we bunked at this tourist park and it was fun sleeping with yanlong, malcolm, and the 2 year 1s mark and chris. mal, yl and i had like some operations thing haha. and some special agents.

THE crib

well i thought our crib was damn cool . haha. oh and not to mention the  baths at the hot pool with josef tan and angie and brenda. haha we had some 'chee ko pa' challenge which was quite fun.
also, mal and i made  the best milo in the world every morning. i'm so used to using 3 in 1s so making it the tradional way was quite fun. then angie asked me to make one for  her too. consequently i had to make milo for brenda and coffee for miss lim. i cant be bothered with day to day udpdates because no one will bother to read anyway. so yeah just the highlights.

some view huh.

we went to climb this mountain and it was some view from the top.

then we went to a marae where maori people lived. i think it was such a good exposure and all. i had the chance to witness the maori ceremony as chief hahaha. i was trying to put on a straight and serious face but it was quite difficult. no offence, but it really is quite a sight to see a grown, huge man stick out his toungue and enlarges his eyes. i was just not used to it, but i still respected their tradition. we had the local greeting, (crap i forgot the name for it), of touching nose to nose. well i felt very very welcomed by this particular lady. she was our host and i thought she was very nice. oh the guys had fun doing the haka which is the traditional war dance but i really couldn do it because i kept laughing. it was so embarassing and the girls whipped out their cameras and all as if brad pitt was there.

some river work.

the most fun part of the trip would be the jet boat rides and luge rides. the jet boat was way awesome. did some spins and travelled at speeds that messed up my hair. and the luge was fun racing the 2 of them. awesome.
then we went to auckland city. the layout and shopping cant be compared to singapore but the weather absolutely rocked. well i managed to get like 3 tops and souvenirs. somehow their coffee is soooo good. there was this esquires cafe on queen st near our apartments where we spent both midnights at (:

well that justs about sums it up. im back now with loads to study and revise, i really wanna do well for cts! haha. oh and this day we did fieldwork at an estuary, i got so many bites la. i only realised the day we came back to singapore. theres this belt of 8 bites on my left calf. i just hope the itch goes away and it heals faster. the trip really got me more intereseted in geography. im serious. not to mention friends made.

malcolm and yanlong from strangers to roommates who bathed together.

limhong my supposed bus mate. you cant seem to be angry with her. there was this day we decided to prank the 5 girls by acting angry and all, but when limhong speaks and talks to you, you just somehow smile. her little girl cuteness is overbearing. thats why we came to a conclusion by saying if limhong is angry with someone that particular someone must be THAT screwed up.

yusheng who was so unlucky. had stomach discomfort for the first few days. but i guess you became fine after that. it was still fun with you around. anyway you get to go there again. well somewhere around there la.

teresa my emo/bitch mate haha. i will never forget the talks and walks we had. thank you so much for listening. and seriously, she shopped alot. oh oh the marathon we had on queens st. to get chocs, limhong's cake and donuts. dont worry i know how precious the donuts were! we really should have stayed in the plane la.

yanwen that quiet girl who tells ghost stories haha. and till now i insist that it was teresa's fault that i hit you. but nonetheless, sorry!

last but not least i want to talk about gracia ___. i dont know whats her surname. when i asked her if she wrote anything about me, she said for what. UGH.
the fitness freak who gets up and train and run every morning. haha. her constant reminders to drink more water and to finish up everything on our plates. haha that day in auckland where emoness just hit you right in the face. dont worry k. if that guy upsets you tell yanlong and i so we can give him a lesson. haha. sorry for bringing that subject up only for you to recall bad memories. all the best for your nationals! ok its still not an essay but still its lengthier than the rest.

now that you're gone, it made me realised how much you meant to me. things didn go as well as i would have wanted but whats done is done. but i was hoping at least there was a reply of some sort but no.i really want to hear from you. things just dont feel the same anymore. i hope at least things can revert back to normal. i didn realise that maybe i hurt you or made you uncomfortable. i just want to make it up to you alright.
